Student Success

As a former foster youth, I qualified for UP! In that program I worked closely with Pam Fleming, the UP! Financial Aid Advisor. I have never met someone so caring before. She is very genuine and I am very pleased to have her in my life. The UP! Program has helped me meet other people in my situation. They also helped me with academic, career, transfer, and personal advising. I knew I could always go to Pam or Nora if I needed help with my transfer process. Financial Aid, EOPS, and UP! contributed to my success at Cuyamaca College. I received my Associates Degree in Elementary Education. I transferred to San Diego State University in the fall and am doing great.  I encourage everyone to take advantage of the resources you have because they can lead you to many things. I would not have been able to do it without the help I received.
