This class will be 100% online. We will be conducting a virtual classroom using Zoom conferencing software, which is free to use for you and can be accessed on any computer, cell phone or tablet. The classroom sessions will be from 8:30 - 12:00 each day, Monday through Thursday for the semester. However, class sessions will be recorded and posted in Canvas, so if you have to miss a class (or the class time just doesn't fit into your schedule), you can always go back and watch them when you have the opportunity. All assignments will have at least a 24-hour window for completion, so it's not required that you be available at any particular time of day.
Homework will be completed online using WebAssign. The cost is about $120 and includes online access to the textbook. Also, since the same textbook is used for Math 280 and Math 281, you will not have to purchase WebAssign access for those classes in future semesters. Course information and all written assignments will be accessed through Canvas. You will need access to a scanner or cell phone to take an image of your work to be uploaded into Canvas.

Some students may find the idea of taking this class to be somewhat intimidating. Maybe this will be your first online math class or your first math class in several years. Maybe math is not your easiest subject or you're concerned about the modality of instruction. Regardless of your past experience, I believe completing this class is absolutely attainable for any student who has the time, devotion and persistence to dedicate to the class for the entirety of its duration.
