Angela Tilley-Ruiz has been a student-centered professional in higher education for over 11 years. She comes to us from Grossmont College where she served as the Program Assistant and Interim Job Placement Coordinator for Career Education/Workforce Development. Angela developed innovative programming to connect students with employers who provide high-wage and high-demand jobs. She previously worked as Assistant Director of Career Services & Internships Mount Saint Mary’s University in South Los Angeles. Before that, she served as a Coordinator in Admissions at Pitzer College and supported the Diversity Program designed for admitted high school seniors from underrepresented racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds across the United States.
Angela's work is driven by advocacy for access, equity, and inclusion. Born and raised in San Diego, she moved to Los Angeles for college and began her career path in higher education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology at California State University, Dominguez Hills. As a first generation college graduate, she then went on to earn her master’s degree from Claremont Graduate University in Applied Women’s Studies with a concentration in Higher Education. She hopes to soon pursue a doctorate in educational leadership.
