TRAIN: Taking the train to your destination can be a pleasant and comfortable way to travel. The "All Aboard America" plan offered by Amtrak is a travel package you may want to consider. AMERICAN YOUTH HOSTELS: American Youth Hostels has over 270 hostels scattered throughout the U.S. Hostels are low-cost overnight accommodations for travelers. Costs vary by location. YMCA'S and YWCA'S: These "no-frill" accommodations are popular, so it is advisable to call in advance to determine if rooms are available.
