Login Troubleshooting
There are some things that can go wrong when you try to access databases off campus:

  1. Are you currently registered for the current semester? For example, if you are not registered for summer classes, you will not have access to our databases during the summer.
  2. If you still get the invalid message, contact the Help Desk (619-660-4395). The Help Desk will check your student login record. Generally this can be fixed immediately, but may take 1-2 working days in some cases.
  3. If you can log into some databases, but not others it generally means the database is having a problem and you'll have to wait until the problem is resolved, generally by the next day.
Do I have any overdue items? How do I login to my Library Account?

We are sorry but the Library is closed during the COVID 19.

Access your My Library Account to find items you have checked out or fines you may owe. How to log into My Library Account

What are the fines for overdue materials? What if I have a fine?

We are sorry. The Library is closed during COVID-19.

The library charges 25 cents a day for each item that is overdue (up to a $100 maximum per book and a $50 per magazine/journal). The fines for reserve materials are $1.00 per hour or $3.00 a day per item (up to $100 maximum per item). The fines for interlibrary loan materials are $3.00 per item per day. Students are blocked from administrative functions (registration, drop/add, transcripts, and grades by phone) if they have any overdue materials or fines in any amount.

If you have a fine, call the Circulation Desk (619-660-4416) or
visit the Circulation Desk in person.

May I place a hold on an item in the Cuyamaca College Library?

We are sorry. The Library is closed during COVID-19.

Library users may place a hold request for an item that is checked out to another patron. Requests are placed through the OPAC. When a requested item becomes available, it will be placed on hold at the circulation desk and the requestor notified to pick up the item within 3 days. Hold requests may not be placed on reserve items. Library users may also place holds by calling circulation during business hours (619-660-4416) or visiting the circulation desk in person.

May I order books from other libraries?

Yes. The Cuyamaca College Library offers an interlibrary loan service to students and employees. Interlibrary loan is a national lending system through which library users may order books from other libraries in the United States. Items from the Grossmont Library  should arrive in approximately two business days. It takes longer to get materials from other libraries, so plan ahead. To order ILL items online, please visit: http://www.gcccd.edu/library/default.html

Note: overdue fines on interlibrary loan materials are $3.00 per item per day.
