51st Math Field Day Senior High Mathematics Field Day on Saturday, March 15, 2014
We would like to take this opportunity to announce the 50th Annual Senior High Math Field Day event which will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2014. You might be thinking, "What is a Senior High Math Field Day event?" Please read on for more information! What is a "Senior High Math Field Day event?" The Senior High Math Field Day is a friendly Mathematical competition that has been enjoyed by students since the early sixties. (This wonderful event has been running continuously for 51 years)
What happens at a "Senior High Math Field Day?" Teams of students from High Schools in the San Diego area get together and take part in various events which involve challenging mathematical problem solving. (A maximum of 10 students from each school consisting of ninth graders and up) Who sponsors this event? The event is sponsored by the Greater San Diego Mathematics Council and the California Mathematics Council. Texas Instruments is also a sponsor by regularly donating prizes such as Graphing Calculators to students and schools. Where will the next Senior High Math Field Day be held? The 51th annual event will be held at beautiful Cuyamaca Community College in El Cajon, California. (The event has been held at this location for the past 10 years)
