A network administrator is a modern professional responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware and software that comprises a computer network. This normally includes the deployment, configuration, maintenance and monitoring of active network equipment. A related role is that of the network specialist, or network analyst, who concentrates on network design and security. Network Administrators will normally have some of the following industry certifications:
Chart of Equivalent Classes at Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges for the Computer Information Sciences Departments.
To earn your AA or AS degree, or to move on to higher education, you must also complete the General Education Requirements. Because there are occasional updates, check with a counselor for the most current information.
Students who wish to enroll in specific Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint) should refer to Business Office Technology.
